ProtoSTEP <\/span><\/span><\/span>works for Industrials and Academic Research Laboratories<\/b> in the three main phases of R&D: Conceptualisation <\/b>(Proof of concept), Prototyping <\/b>(Design of a product) and Innovation<\/b>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Conceptualisation phase<\/h3>

Conceptualisation <\/b>allows our customers to think about the product specification in terms of feasibility <\/b>and technical solution<\/b>. We thus propose several approaches following the encountered study case:<\/p>

  • an empirical approach<\/b> based on the general knowledge and experienced skills
    • case of systems with well known database (sizing, materials, operating points, etc.)<\/li><\/ul><\/li>
    • an analytical approach<\/b> based on the laws of Physics
      • case of linear systems with a limited number of variables<\/li><\/ul><\/li>
      • a numerical approach <\/b>based on simulation allowing the computation of several variables interacting with each other
        • case of linear systems including a high number of variables or degrees of freedom<\/li>
        • case of non-linear systems<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>

          Prototyping phase<\/h3>

          Prototyping <\/b>is the designing and manufacturing of a first version of a product. This step allows our customers to validate a proof of concept in the expected specification<\/b> of product. ProtoSTEP <\/span><\/span><\/span>helps its customers to reduce the development risks and costs<\/b>, and thus the time to market<\/b>, by building a ready to be tested virtual alpha-prototype<\/b> including: <\/p>

          • a multiphysics model<\/b> validated <\/b>from the results of simulation
            • COMSOL Multiphysics software<\/li><\/ul><\/li>
            • an enhanced CAD model<\/b> built from the results of simulation
              • COMSOL Multiphysics and Solidworks softwares<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>

                With this solution, our customers can make and consider their first prototype as a beta-prototype<\/b>, as close to the final version of product as possible and marketable.<\/p>

                Innovation phase<\/h3>

                Innovation <\/b>is built upon the two previous phases. It can be an upgrade of an existing technology<\/b>, or it can also be the opportunity to deal with new specification of product<\/b>. In this context, ProtoSTEP <\/span><\/span><\/span>can :<\/p>

                  • search the related existing and\/or pattented technologies
                    <\/b><\/li>
                  • propose a proof of concept (Conceptualisation)
                    <\/b><\/li>
